health has rewards for both pets and owners. Our recommendations are
designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical

micro-chipping; spay and neuter; and specialized blood tests for all

- Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation
(VOM)
Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) is a healing technology
that locates areas of the animals nervous system which have fallen
out of communication (called subluxations) and reestablishes
neuronal communication, thus inducing healing. VOM can treat
orthopedic-related conditions such as: lameness, arthritis, IV
disc disease, hip dysplasia, agility dysfunction, knee diseases,
progressive myelopathies ("down in the rear" in dogs);
and common organ function disease such as: chronic ear infections,
lick granuloma, kidney disease, epilepsy, hypothyroidism, hairball
enteritis, hyperthyroidism, liver disease, esophageal disease,
and allergies. Dr. Julie Platt is certified as a veterinary chiropractitioner
(CVCP) and trained to provide VOM.
- Retail Center
We carry Eukanuba, IVD and Hill's products. We also carry a variety of
animal care and nutritional products. We sell Gentle Leaders and will
gladly teach our clients how to use them.
- Microchipping
Placing a microchip into your pet gives it a form of permanent
identification that cannot be altered. All animal shelters and most
veterinary clinics have equipment that will scan for a chip and give
you a much better chance of being reunited with you pet should he/she
become lost. The procedure is not very different than giving a routine
vaccine. We find that micro chipping at the time of spay or neuter is
the easiest and most convenient, but it can be done at any time.
- Pain Management
Managing your pet's pain is something we take very seriously. Pets feel
pain and discomfort for the same reasons and under the same
circumstances as people do. The effects of pain can actually delay the
healing process. That is why we use a variety of methods and
medications to control your pet's pain. These include a combination of
oral and injectable medications for all routine surgeries, and nerve
blocks for declaws and tooth extractions.
- Pharmacy
Prescriptions are filled during your office visit from our fully
stocked pharmacy. Our staff also understands the proper use of
everything we sell. If you want to know the best and safest products
for keeping your pets flea and tick-free, we have sound advice from
trained staff, that you can't get at the grocery or discount store or
online.
- Vaccinations
Our practice follows the guidelines of the American Animal Hospital
Association, and considers each patient individually. For many
diseases, we are now recommending revaccination every three years,
instead of the idea that everything was given every year. We will be
happy to discuss these new ideas and recommendations with you at your
annual visit.
